Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Plantations, Trading and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 9.09% or 0.10 points to end at 1.20 and Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC (CM:DPL) was up 8.15% or 1.10 points to 14.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kegalle Plantations PLC (CM:KGAL), which fell 36.18% or 48.70 points to trade at 85.90 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 7.14% or 0.10 points to end at 1.40 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was down 5.91% or 4.60 points to 73.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 119 to 86 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $50.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1105.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 208.530, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 133.965.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 98.03.
