Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Food Producers and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.21% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 2.62% or 0.69 points to trade at 26.87 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 2.06% or 0.655 points to end at 32.405 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.68% or 0.27 points to 16.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 5.07% or 0.24 points to trade at 4.55 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) declined 1.43% or 0.615 points to end at 42.270 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 1.21% or 0.660 points to 54.050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 87 to 61 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; down 5.07% or 0.24 to 4.55.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.44% or 4.70 to $1071.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.35% or 0.50 to hit $36.66 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.56 to trade at $39.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.0948, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.7215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 97.83.
