Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Sports, Tourism and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 5.09% or 1.28 points to trade at 26.44 at the close. Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) added 5.05% or 0.22 points to end at 4.58 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 4.12% or 0.080 points to 2.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 3.01% or 0.54 points to trade at 17.42 in late trade. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) declined 1.92% or 0.150 points to end at 7.650 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) shed 1.22% or 0.160 points to 12.910.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 189 to 128 and 91 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.01% or 13.25 to $1331.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.61% or 1.15 to hit $45.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 0.93 to trade at $46.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.10% to 2.9752, while EUR/TRY rose 0.01% to 3.3217.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.76.
