Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 5.30% or 0.24 points to trade at 4.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 4.37% or 2.26 points to end at 53.92 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 4.37% or 314.00 points to 7499.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which fell 4.58% or 3.60 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.44% or 1.30 points to end at 89.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 1.25% or 0.40 points to 31.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 268 to 256 and 128 ended unchanged.
Shares in KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.44% or 1.30 to 89.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.67% or 0.33 to $48.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.16% or 1.70 to trade at $1093.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.00% to 4.1170, while USD/PLN fell 0.49% to 3.7502.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 97.34.
