Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.70% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which rose 3.26% or 1.03 points to trade at 32.58 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) added 3.12% or 1.57 points to end at 51.82 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 2.81% or 0.075 points to 2.743 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 3.36% or 0.259 points to trade at 7.450 in late trade. Vopak (AS:VOPA) declined 0.93% or 0.40 points to end at 42.56 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.91% or 0.20 points to 21.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 39 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.16% to 14.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $53.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $55.83 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.66% or 7.70 to trade at $1158.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8382.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 101.06.
