Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Materials and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 6.77% or 1.6 points to trade at 25.9 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 5.21% or 0.89 points to end at 17.97 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 3.13% or 1.13 points to 37.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which lost 5.50% or 0.8 points to trade at 13.8 in late trade. Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) declined 3.36% or 4.80 points to end at 138.20 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) shed 2.28% or 5.9 points to 253.3.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.92% or 1.22 to $43.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.48% or 1.10 to hit $45.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.75 to trade at $1341.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.53% to 9.3910, while USD/NOK fell 0.53% to 8.4768.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.36.
