Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Banking and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN), which rose 3.94% or 10.70 points to trade at 282.50 at the close. KOC Holding (IS:KCHOL) added 3.03% or 0.43 points to end at 14.62 and Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) was up 2.87% or 0.120 points to 4.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel (IS:VESTL), which lost 6.49% or 0.460 points to trade at 6.630 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 2.87% or 0.060 points to end at 2.030 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 2.48% or 0.82 points to 32.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 198 to 145 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.94% or 11.35 to $1216.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.79% or 0.42 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.22 to trade at $55.27 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.26% to 3.7587, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 4.0376.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 100.25.
