Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Reds (AT:CAMr), which rose 29.24% or 0.088 points to trade at 0.389 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 4.48% or 0.06 points to end at 1.40 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was up 4.29% or 0.15 points to 3.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 5.01% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.91 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 4.67% or 0.005 points to end at 0.102 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) shed 4.29% or 0.07 points to 1.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 22 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.10% or 1.20 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.43% or 1.61 to hit $37.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.95% or 1.53 to trade at $40.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1075, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7851.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 96.92.
