Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Tourism, Transport and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.85% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.55% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) added 1.14% or 0.22 points to end at 19.52 and AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA) was up 1.07% or 0.18 points to 16.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which fell 9.20% or 0.150 points to trade at 1.480 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) declined 6.19% or 0.410 points to end at 6.210 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was down 5.86% or 2.08 points to 33.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 342 to 65 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.32% or 3.40 to $1075.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.75% or 1.01 to hit $35.75 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.85% or 1.93 to trade at $37.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.12% to 2.9857, while EUR/TRY rose 2.64% to 3.2863.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 97.50.
