Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 5.25% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 6.25% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.085 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.450 and Sider (LM:SID) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.155 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 16.88% or 0.540 points to trade at 2.660 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 12.50% or 0.060 points to end at 0.420 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 8.56% or 0.190 points to 2.030.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 25 to 2 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) fell to 3-years lows; down 16.88% or 0.540 to 2.660. Shares in Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 0.450. Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) fell to all time lows; losing 12.50% or 0.060 to 0.420. Shares in Unacem (LM:CEL) fell to all time lows; falling 8.56% or 0.190 to 2.030.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.15% or 0.07 to $42.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.72% or 0.85 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.11% or 1.20 to trade at $1114.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.25% to 3.2395, while EUR/PEN rose 0.95% to 3.6189.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.59.
