Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Food and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.86% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.151 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 4.71% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.2000 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 4.08% or 0.080 points to 2.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which lost 8.93% or 1.81 points to trade at 18.45 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 5.26% or 0.070 points to end at 1.260 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 5.24% or 0.210 points to 3.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 28 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.38% or 4.45 to $1169.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.43% or 2.19 to hit $51.63 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.61% or 2.39 to trade at $54.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0611, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8438.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 101.38.
