Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Motors, Trading and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 19.93% or 59.80 points to end at 359.90 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) was up 17.61% or 7.50 points to 50.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 23.65% or 15.30 points to trade at 49.40 in late trade. Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) declined 10.80% or 95.00 points to end at 785.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 70 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.72% or 0.39 to $54.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.97% or 0.55 to hit $57.35 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.33% or 16.05 to trade at $1224.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 190.775, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 150.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 99.26.
