Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which rose 5.26% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 1.56% or 0.10 points to end at 6.39 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 1.36% or 0.02 points to 1.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which fell 5.00% or 1.15 points to trade at 21.85 at the close. Firstcity Bnk (LAGOS:FCMB) declined 4.11% or 0.09 points to end at 2.10 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was down 3.04% or 0.18 points to 5.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 30 to 11 and 42 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.85% or 0.38 to $44.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.60 to trade at $1166.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.89% to 219.020, while USD/NGN fell 0.04% to 199.125.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.81.
