Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Software & Computers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 2.33% or 1.83 points to trade at 80.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (BR:ELI) added 2.13% or 0.950 points to end at 45.450 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) was up 1.31% or 0.395 points to 30.495 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 2.17% or 0.12 points to trade at 5.32 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 1.91% or 0.65 points to end at 33.15 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 1.43% or 1.09 points to 75.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 65 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elia (BR:ELI) rose to all time highs; rising 2.13% or 0.950 to 45.450. Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.91% or 0.65 to 33.15.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.90% or 10.10 to $1126.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 5.99% or 2.02 to hit $31.61 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.89% or 1.76 to trade at $34.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.0901, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.7583.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 99.07.
