Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Holdings & Investments, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.49% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which rose 5.76% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.55% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) was up 3.28% or 0.170 points to 5.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which fell 4.64% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.440 at the close. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) declined 4.53% or 0.16 points to end at 3.37 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was down 4.09% or 0.23 points to 5.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 309 to 90 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.05% or 11.60 to $1094.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 5.56% or 1.57 to hit $29.93 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 5.81% or 1.62 to trade at $29.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.65% to 3.0226, while EUR/TRY fell 1.12% to 3.2771.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.39.
