Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) added 16.67% or 0.10 points to end at 0.60 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 12.50% or 0.20 points to 1.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 21.98% or 549.40 points to trade at 1950.00 at the close. Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) declined 19.49% or 7.70 points to end at 31.80 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) was down 18.97% or 351.10 points to 1500.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 103 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.44% or 0.57 to $40.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.89% or 0.81 to hit $43.30 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.37% or 3.90 to trade at $1049.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.62% to 213.860, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 143.130.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 100.36.
