Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Motors and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 13.75% or 44.00 points to trade at 364.00 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) was up 10.84% or 3.10 points to 31.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Talawakelle Tea Estate PLC (CM:TPL), which lost 10.11% or 3.60 points to trade at 32.00 in late trade. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 7.31% or 95.00 points to end at 1205.00 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) shed 6.82% or 4.10 points to 56.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 63 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.78% or 0.40 to $50.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.72% or 0.38 to hit $52.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1256.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.45% to 181.850, while USD/LKR rose 0.22% to 147.330.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.45.
