Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Travel & Leisure and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.72% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 1.38% or 0.28 points to trade at 20.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Tod'S (MI:TOD) added 0.76% or 0.55 points to end at 72.85 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 0.34% or 0.0300 points to 8.9350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 10.02% or 0.8900 points to trade at 7.9900 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) declined 8.99% or 0.3660 points to end at 3.7060 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was down 8.29% or 2.48 points to 27.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 364 to 57 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in UBI Banca (MI:UBI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.99% or 0.3660 to 3.7060.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 5.15% or 1.54 to $31.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 4.86% or 1.59 to hit $34.31 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.14% or 12.90 to trade at $1140.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.34% to 1.1064, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.7595.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.38% at 97.51.
