Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Property and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 7.63% or 0.290 points to trade at 4.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 5.08% or 0.330 points to end at 6.850 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) was up 4.49% or 51.000 points to 1180.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV), which fell 4.29% or 2.300 points to trade at 51.950 at the close. Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) declined 3.30% or 0.360 points to end at 10.700 and Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) was down 2.92% or 74.00 points to 2430.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 92 to 63 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.30% or 0.360 to 10.700. Shares in Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.92% or 74.00 to 2430.00.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.46% or 5.30 to $1148.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.04% or 0.78 to hit $39.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 0.76 to trade at $43.45 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.53% to 7.2707, while USD/PHP fell 0.48% to 46.590.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 93.78.
