Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Media and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 2.41% or 0.61 points to trade at 25.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.19% or 2.01 points to end at 94.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was up 1.89% or 1.75 points to 94.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which fell 2.52% or 0.17 points to trade at 6.58 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 1.89% or 0.25 points to end at 13.00 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 1.67% or 0.12 points to 7.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 300 to 272 and 96 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.69% or 1.29 to $46.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.06% or 1.54 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.00 to trade at $1113.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.42% to 4.2321, while USD/PLN rose 0.53% to 3.8970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 98.02.
