Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 1.39% or 0.06 points to trade at 4.66 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 0.81% or 0.52 points to end at 65.00 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 0.72% or 0.34 points to 47.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which lost 1.97% or 0.225 points to trade at 11.225 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.94% or 0.27 points to end at 13.63 and NN Group (AS:NN) shed 1.68% or 0.47 points to 27.79.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 78 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.30% to 24.41.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 5.15% or 1.85 to $37.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 5.29% or 2.05 to hit $40.77 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.70 to trade at $1267.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1019, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7719.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 97.09.
