Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Beverage, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 2.17% or 0.11 points to trade at 5.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) added 2.00% or 2.15 points to end at 109.70 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was up 0.59% or 0.52 points to 89.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which fell 3.30% or 1.015 points to trade at 29.750 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 1.72% or 1.49 points to end at 85.14 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 1.35% or 0.30 points to 21.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 110 to 44 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.05% or 0.50 to $1098.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.92% or 1.63 to hit $31.53 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 5.70% or 1.94 to trade at $32.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0892, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.7479.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 98.66.
