Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edelnor (LM:EDN), which rose 1.75% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.800 at the close. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) added 0.83% or 0.140 points to end at 17.000 and Intergroup (LM:IFS) was up 0.37% or 0.100 points to 27.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which lost 7.75% or 0.550 points to trade at 6.550 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 7.11% or 0.710 points to end at 9.280 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) shed 6.92% or 0.029 points to 0.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 4 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 3.11% or 1.39 to $43.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.24% or 29.00 to trade at $1265.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3130, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7717.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 94.14.
