Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Software & Computer Services and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which rose 9.38% or 3.94 points to trade at 45.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) added 5.60% or 2.65 points to end at 50.00 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 3.85% or 4.5 points to 121.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which fell 5.00% or 0.4 points to trade at 7.6 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 4.85% or 12.6 points to end at 247.2 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) was down 4.56% or 1.66 points to 34.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 86 to 79 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) fell to all time lows; falling 5.00% or 0.4 to 7.6.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 6.86% or 2.05 to $31.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 6.66% or 2.18 to hit $34.90 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.06% or 11.90 to trade at $1139.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.15% to 9.5140, while USD/NOK fell 1.35% to 8.6064.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.30% at 97.58.
