Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.88% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 4.28% or 0.21 points to trade at 5.12 at the close. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 3.72% or 0.51 points to end at 14.21 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 3.21% or 0.16 points to 5.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 3.99% or 14.20 points to trade at 342.05 in late trade. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) declined 3.90% or 0.28 points to end at 6.90 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 3.68% or 214.95 points to 5620.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 297 to 197 and 194 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $40.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.72% or 0.30 to hit $41.24 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.08% or 13.60 to trade at $1251.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.34% to 4.2615, while USD/PLN rose 0.05% to 3.7812.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.05.
