Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 2.06% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 14.81% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.310 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 11.46% or 0.011 points to end at 0.107 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 9.93% or 0.014 points to 0.155 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 11.11% or 0.150 points to trade at 1.200 in late trade. Intergroup (LM:IFS) declined 4.05% or 0.970 points to end at 23.000 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 2.43% or 0.009 points to 0.361.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 9 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 5.17% or 1.64 to $33.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 5.06% or 1.67 to hit $34.68 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.77% or 21.80 to trade at $1209.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.16% to 3.5210, while EUR/PEN rose 0.03% to 3.8830.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.77% at 97.36.
