SYDNEY, July 8 (Reuters) - The Australian dollar skidded to a fresh six-year low against the greenback on Wednesday and hit a three-month trough on the yen as the slumping Chinese stock market showed no signs of stabilising.
The Aussie, often used as a China proxy, fell as far as $0.7390 AUD=D4 , reaching a low not seen since May 2009. It dropped more than 1 percent against the safe-haven yen towards 90.20 AUDJPY=R .
