Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 9.68% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.136 at the close. Meanwhile, Elval (AT:VAL) added 7.32% or 0.12 points to end at 1.76 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.90% or 0.002 points to 0.031 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which fell 4.76% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.357 at the close. F.G. Europe (AT:ESKr) declined 4.38% or 0.032 points to end at 0.698 and Korres (AT:KRRr) was down 2.40% or 0.09 points to 3.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 39 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.86% or 9.90 to $1143.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.85% or 0.38 to hit $45.29 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $48.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1173, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7361.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.54.
