Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 5.20% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OSLO:TGS), which fell 2.64% or 4.2 points to trade at 154.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) fell 2.82% or 20.0 points to end at 690.0 and Marine Harvest ASA (OSLO:MHG) was down 3.89% or 3.75 points to 92.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT), which fell 11.24% or 2.80 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) declined 10.67% or 4.0 points to end at 33.1 and Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) was down 9.06% or 4.01 points to 40.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 188 to 1 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.67% or 4.0 to 33.1.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 4.47% or 1.81 to $38.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 4.74% or 2.15 to hit $43.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.08% or 0.90 to trade at $1158.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 2.00% to 9.5186, while USD/NOK rose 0.28% to 8.2203.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.41% at 93.50.
