Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 2.99% or 1.135 points to trade at 39.050 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.30% or 1.470 points to end at 65.480 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 2.29% or 1.350 points to 60.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 0.60% or 0.07 points to trade at 11.67 in late trade. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 0.42% or 0.45 points to end at 106.55 and Elia (BR:ELI) shed 0.16% or 0.075 points to 47.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 32 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.31% or 3.75 to $1196.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.91% or 0.48 to hit $52.53 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.38 to trade at $55.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.0631, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8716.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 101.28.
