Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.45% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V), which rose 6.80% or 2.33 points to trade at 36.59 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 4.06% or 0.215 points to end at 5.505 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 2.88% or 1.17 points to 41.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 2.13% or 0.82 points to trade at 37.66 in late trade. KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) declined 1.46% or 0.60 points to end at 40.55 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) shed 1.25% or 0.10 points to 7.89.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 67 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.17% or 0.62 to $53.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.43% or 0.71 to hit $50.48 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.41% or 4.85 to trade at $1172.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.33% to 1.0612, while EUR/GBP fell 0.94% to 0.8438.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.90% at 101.18.
