Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.29% or 0.265 points to trade at 11.830 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.77% or 0.067 points to end at 3.858 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.37% or 0.62 points to 46.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which lost 4.27% or 2.44 points to trade at 54.70 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.02% or 0.32 points to end at 15.49 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 1.76% or 0.59 points to 32.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 61 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.66% to 23.34 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.76% or 0.80 to $44.54 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.32% or 0.62 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.70 to trade at $1303.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1103, while EUR/GBP fell 1.20% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.22.
