Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minsur (LM:MINi), which rose 3.39% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 2.58% or 0.008 points to end at 0.318 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 1.38% or 0.004 points to 0.294 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 2.86% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.340 in late trade. Edelnor (LM:EDN) declined 1.77% or 0.100 points to end at 5.550 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) shed 0.42% or 0.001 points to 0.239.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 12 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.59% or 0.29 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.31 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1207.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3510, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7330.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
