Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 4.35% or 0.250 points to trade at 6.000 at the close. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) added 1.82% or 0.090 points to end at 5.040 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 1.76% or 0.030 points to 1.730 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 3.70% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.00 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.57% or 0.010 points to end at 0.270 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 3.51% or 0.100 points to 2.750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.99% or 0.38 to $37.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.14% or 0.88 to hit $40.19 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.18% or 14.80 to trade at $1272.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.67% to 3.4404, while EUR/PEN fell 0.63% to 3.7768.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.03% at 96.19.
