Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 6.47% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.181 at the close. Meanwhile, Relapasa (LM:REL) added 5.26% or 0.005 points to end at 0.100 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 4.08% or 0.010 points to 0.255 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Milpo (LM:MIL), which fell 4.83% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.380 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 1.41% or 0.050 points to end at 3.500 and Enersur SA (LM:ENE) was down 1.33% or 0.100 points to 7.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 10 to 8 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 4.85% or 1.38 to $29.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 5.92% or 1.65 to hit $29.53 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.44% or 4.90 to trade at $1101.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.11% to 3.4494, while EUR/PEN rose 0.18% to 3.7568.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 99.15.
