Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.80%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 0.57% or 0.12 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.23% or 0.11 points to end at 48.10 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 0.14% or 0.01 points to 7.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which fell 6.38% or 4.06 points to trade at 59.58 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 5.74% or 7.95 points to end at 130.60 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was down 4.38% or 2.98 points to 65.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 375 to 237 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in CCC SA (WA:CCCP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.74% or 7.95 to 130.60.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.30% or 0.48 to $36.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.68% or 0.26 to hit $37.02 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.31% or 13.90 to trade at $1074.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.91% to 4.3007, while USD/PLN rose 1.50% to 3.9804.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 99.15.
