Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.90% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 3.14% or 0.77 points to end at 25.32 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 2.04% or 0.002 points to 0.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which fell 4.08% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.235 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 3.85% or 0.080 points to end at 2.000 and Sider (LM:SID) was down 3.57% or 0.004 points to 0.108.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) fell to all time lows; losing 4.08% or 0.010 to 0.235. Shares in Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.85% or 0.080 to 2.000.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.16% or 0.79 to $37.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.13% or 0.43 to hit $38.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.34% or 3.60 to trade at $1059.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.38% to 3.3760, while EUR/PEN rose 0.12% to 3.7035.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 98.22.
