Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.86% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which rose 4.70% or 0.226 points to trade at 5.030 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 3.16% or 0.270 points to end at 8.825 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 2.56% or 0.086 points to 3.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which lost 0.99% or 0.31 points to trade at 31.09 in late trade. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) declined 0.27% or 0.11 points to end at 40.00 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) shed 0.10% or 0.04 points to 40.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 50 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.01% or 0.49 to $49.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.60% or 0.29 to hit $48.91 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.60 to trade at $1221.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7593.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.48.
