Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, unchanged % or points to end at and was unchanged % or points to in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. unchanged % or points to end at and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 167 to 55 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.73% or 0.38 to $51.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.77% or 0.44 to hit $57.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.50 to trade at $1143.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.77% to 210.550, while USD/LKR rose 0.75% to 134.735.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 97.70.
