Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Electricity, Transport and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.33% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 8.78% or 0.90 points to trade at 11.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) added 1.21% or 2.50 points to end at 209.00 and Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) was up 0.76% or 0.010 points to 1.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 8.70% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.210 at the close. Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) declined 8.08% or 0.240 points to end at 2.730 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was down 7.31% or 0.95 points to 12.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 357 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 8.70% or 0.020 to 0.210.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1158.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.52% or 1.83 to hit $38.62 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 4.74% or 2.15 to trade at $43.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 2.9356, while EUR/TRY rose 2.29% to 3.4014.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.43% at 93.48.
