SYDNEY, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Australian government spending for consumption rose 1.9 percent in the second quarter to an inflation-adjusted A$75.96 billion ($57.8 billion), the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported on Tuesday.
Investment spending by the government and public enterprises increased 15.5 percent to A$20.45 billion, implying total spending made a sizable contribution to economic growth.
The data will feed into the gross domestic product report for the second quarter due on Wednesday.
