Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.92% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Modern Times Group MTG AB ser. B (ST:MTGBs), which rose 3.41% or 8.5 points to trade at 257.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 3.18% or 4.30 points to end at 139.50 and Sandvik AB (ST:SAND) was up 2.85% or 2.50 points to 90.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Svenska Cellulosa AB SCA ser. B (ST:SCAb), which fell 1.02% or 2.6 points to trade at 251.6 at the close. AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) declined 0.50% or 3.0 points to end at 592.0 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) was down 0.32% or 0.20 points to 62.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 364 to 215 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.63% or 0.68 to $42.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.08% or 0.48 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.62% or 6.60 to trade at $1062.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.45% to 9.2126, while USD/SEK fell 0.20% to 8.7193.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 100.27.
