Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Electricity and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 8.33% or 0.31 points to trade at 4.03 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 4.35% or 0.030 points to end at 0.720 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was up 2.86% or 0.020 points to 0.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN), which lost 2.30% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.970 in late trade. Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) declined 2.20% or 0.30 points to end at 13.33 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) shed 1.83% or 0.18 points to 9.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 208 to 112 and 85 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.45 to $1252.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.09% or 0.56 to hit $51.71 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.51 to trade at $54.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 3.7024, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.9464.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.58.
