Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group (AS:NN), which rose 1.67% or 0.47 points to trade at 28.64 at the close. OCI (AS:OCI) added 1.36% or 0.235 points to end at 17.505 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was up 1.08% or 0.35 points to 32.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 24.80% or 1.20 points to trade at 3.64 in late trade. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 5.05% or 0.28 points to end at 5.30 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 2.62% or 0.42 points to 15.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 56 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.06% to 21.24.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.26% or 0.84 to $36.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.28% or 0.90 to hit $38.63 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.21% or 15.10 to trade at $1230.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1110, while EUR/GBP rose 1.12% to 0.7853.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.66.
