Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 0.97% or 74.35 points to trade at 7739.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.73% or 0.05 points to end at 6.90 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 0.55% or 0.52 points to 94.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 2.19% or 1.12 points to trade at 50.13 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.60% or 0.05 points to end at 3.08 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was down 1.31% or 0.69 points to 51.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 295 to 263 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) fell to all time lows; down 1.60% or 0.05 to 3.08.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 6.27% or 2.71 to $45.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 4.97% or 2.33 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.08% or 12.60 to trade at $1178.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.05% to 4.2868, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.8721.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 96.67.
