Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Transport and Non-Metal Mineral Products sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN), which rose 11.34% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 6.40% or 2.18 points to end at 36.24 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 4.59% or 0.77 points to 17.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which lost 9.24% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.160 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 9.05% or 0.220 points to end at 2.210 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 6.45% or 0.020 points to 0.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 213 to 119 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.75 to $1133.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.01% or 0.53 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.59 to trade at $55.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.11% to 3.5128, while EUR/TRY rose 0.39% to 3.6749.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 102.94.
