Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 1.79% or 0.09 points to trade at 4.96 at the close. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 1.58% or 0.055 points to end at 3.540 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 1.01% or 0.52 points to 51.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which lost 1.21% or 1.07 points to trade at 87.68 in late trade. Vopak (AS:VOPA) declined 0.89% or 0.39 points to end at 43.10 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.64% or 0.12 points to 18.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 81 to 74 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.37% to 18.98.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.72% or 0.30 to $41.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.21% or 0.09 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1233.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7927.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.47.
