Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Intergroup (LM:IFS), which rose 3.82% or 1.070 points to trade at 29.070 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.600 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) was up 1.70% or 0.100 points to 6.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 4.48% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.320 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 2.63% or 0.500 points to end at 18.500 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 2.00% or 0.090 points to 4.410.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 10 to 10 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.34% or 0.17 to $49.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.10 to trade at $1219.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3435, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7329.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 95.14.
