Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Household sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 4.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 28.99% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.089 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 13.79% or 0.056 points to end at 0.462 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 11.38% or 0.014 points to 0.137 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which lost 5.80% or 0.21 points to trade at 3.41 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 0.86% or 0.01 points to end at 1.15 and Korres (AT:KRRr) shed 0.85% or 0.03 points to 3.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 17 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.83% or 22.70 to $1216.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.97% or 0.65 to hit $33.72 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 3.17% or 1.12 to trade at $36.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.0922, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 98.22.
