Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 3.09% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS), which fell 0.88% or 0.39 points to trade at 43.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) fell 1.65% or 0.48 points to end at 28.61 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was down 1.82% or 0.69 points to 37.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which fell 5.34% or 0.400 points to trade at 7.095 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 5.14% or 0.1260 points to end at 2.3240 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was down 5.12% or 1.56 points to 28.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 160 to 28 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 5.65% or 1.75 to $29.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.99% or 1.87 to hit $29.33 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.84% or 19.80 to trade at $1093.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.04% to 1.0978, while EUR/GBP rose 1.97% to 0.7688.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 98.53.
